## Biography

Tony Galento (1910–1979) was an American actor and former professional boxer. Born Dominick Anthony Galento in Orange, New Jersey, he fought as a heavyweight under the ring name 'Two Ton' Tony Galento and was inducted into the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame in 1970.

Galento appeared in several films during the 1950s. He played Truck in *On the Waterfront* (1954), a spectator at the Hot Box Club (uncredited) in *Guys and Dolls* (1955), Fingers in *The Best Things in Life Are Free* (1956) and Beef in *Wind Across the Everglades* (1958). He also had a television role as Little Pete in an episode of *The Phil Silvers Show* (1956).

He died of a heart attack in Livingston, New Jersey, on 22 July 1979.
