## Biography

Tony Lawson is a British film editor born in London in 1944. He began in the mid-1960s as an assistant sound editor and assistant editor on features, working with Ann Chegwidden and Norman Savage. His first major credit came on Sam Peckinpah's *Straw Dogs* (1971), after which he collaborated with the director again and spent two years editing Stanley Kubrick's *Barry Lyndon* (1975).

Lawson has maintained long-standing working relationships with Nicolas Roeg and Neil Jordan. His credits include *Don't Look Now* (1973), *Bad Timing* (1980), *The Witches* (1990), *Michael Collins* (1996), *The End of the Affair* (1999), *Byzantium* (2013) and *The Brave One* (2007). He has also edited for television.
