Tony Melody was an English television and film actor. Born in London in 1922, he was brought up in Yorkshire and began performing as a singer before moving into acting. He appeared in more than 100 television roles, often in comedies and soap operas.

His credits include *Yanks* (1979) as Mr Jim Moreton, *Little Lord Fauntleroy* (1980) as Kimsey, *Walter* (1982) as Mr Hingley, and recurring or guest parts in *Coronation Street*, *Last of the Summer Wine*, *All Creatures Great and Small*, *Bergerac* and *Casualty*. He also worked in radio, stage and pantomime.

Melody died in 2008, aged 85.
