## Biography

Tony Walton was a British production designer, set designer and costume designer. Born in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, he began working in theatre in the 1950s before moving into film. His film credits include production design on *Murder on the Orient Express* (1974), *The Wiz* (1978) and *All That Jazz* (1979).

Walton won an Academy Award for art direction on *All That Jazz*. He received further Oscar nominations for his work on *Mary Poppins* (1964), *Murder on the Orient Express* and *The Wiz*. He also designed for numerous Broadway productions, winning three Tony Awards, and received an Emmy for the 1985 television adaptation of *Death of a Salesman*.
