## Biography

Tōtetsu Hirakawa is a Japanese production designer and art director. His credits span several decades and include work as an editor on *Glow of the Firefly* (1958) and as art director on films such as *Kumo ga chigireru toki* (1961) and *If You Were Young: Rage* (1970).

He served as production designer on *Woman in the Dunes* (1964), directed by Hiroshi Teshigahara, sharing the role with Masao Yamazaki. In 1965 he and Yamazaki received the Mainichi Film Award for best art direction for the film.
