## Biography

Tracey Scott Wilson is an American playwright, television writer, screenwriter and producer. Born in Newark, New Jersey, she graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in English and from Temple University with an MA in English Literature. After attempting fiction, she turned to playwriting and received early recognition including a New York Theatre Workshop fellowship in 1998.

Her stage works include *The Story* (2003) at the Public Theater and *The Good Negro* (2009). She made her television debut writing an episode of *Do No Harm* (2013). In 2015 she joined the writing staff of *The Americans*, contributing episodes as writer, teleplay and story across multiple seasons while rising to co-executive producer. She later wrote an episode and served as co-executive producer on *Fosse/Verdon* (2019) and wrote the screenplay for the film *Respect* (2021).

Wilson has received Writers Guild of America Awards for Dramatic Series (2016 and 2018) for her work on *The Americans*, along with Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. She has taught at several universities and, in 2023, was appointed the Barbara Berlanti Professor in Writing for the Screen and Stage at Northwestern University.
