He has composed numerous film and television scores, often in collaboration with Atticus Ross. Reznor began creating music in his youth in western Pennsylvania and later worked at a recording studio in Cleveland, where he developed material that became Nine Inch Nails' debut album *Pretty Hate Machine* (1989). His film composing career began with the score for *The Social Network* (2010), written with Ross; the pair have since scored films including *The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo* (2011), *Gone Girl* (2014), *Soul* (2020), *The Killer* (2023), *Challengers* (2024) and *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem* (2023), as well as the series *The Bear* (2022). Reznor and Ross have received Academy Awards for Best Original Score for *The Social Network* and *Soul*. *Sources: en.wikipedia.org, classicfm.com, hollywoodreporter.com.* ## On Fi1m (19) ### Performed in (1) - *TRON: Ares* (2025), Fi1m 50, as F-35 Pilot #1 — [page](https://film.one/film/tron-ares.md) ### Crew (17) - *After the Hunt* (2025), Fi1m 57, Music, Original Music Composer — [page](https://film.one/film/after-the-hunt.md) - *The Gorge* (2025), Fi1m 70, Original Music Composer, Music — [page](https://film.one/film/the-gorge.md) - *Challengers* (2024), Fi1m 80, Music — [page](https://film.one/film/challengers.md) - *Queer* (2024), Fi1m 68, Original Music Composer, Songs, Music — [page](https://film.one/film/queer.md) - *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem* (2023), Fi1m 77, Original Music Composer, Music — [page](https://film.one/film/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-mutant-mayhem.md) - *The Killer* (2023), Fi1m 72, Music, Original Music Composer — [page](https://film.one/film/the-killer.md) - *Empire of Light* (2022), Fi1m 54, Original Music Composer, Music — [page](https://film.one/film/empire-of-light.md) - *The Bear* (2022), Fi1m 82, Music — [page](https://film.one/tv/the-bear-2022.md) - *Soul* (2020), Fi1m 80, Original Music Composer, Music — [page](https://film.one/film/soul.md) - *Watchmen* (2019), Fi1m 84, Original Music Composer, Music — [page](https://film.one/tv/watchmen-2019.md) - *Bird Box* (2018), Fi1m 53, Music, Original Music Composer — [page](https://film.one/film/bird-box.md) - *Citizenfour* (2014), Fi1m 83, Music, Original Music Composer — [page](https://film.one/film/citizenfour.md) - *Gone Girl* (2014), Fi1m 84, Original Music Composer, Music — [page](https://film.one/film/gone-girl.md) - *The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo* (2011), Fi1m 74, Music, Original Music Composer — [page](https://film.one/film/the-girl-with-the-dragon-tattoo.md) - *The Social Network* (2010), Fi1m 91, Music, Original Music Composer — [page](https://film.one/film/the-social-network.md) - *Lost Highway* (1997), Fi1m 78, Songs — [page](https://film.one/film/lost-highway.md) - *Natural Born Killers* (1994), Fi1m 64, Songs — [page](https://film.one/film/natural-born-killers.md) ### Also credited (1) — thanks, archive footage, uncredited - *Requiem for a Dream* (2000), Fi1m 80, Thanks — [page](https://film.one/film/requiem-for-a-dream.md) ## Complete filmography (74) Every credit, newest first.
