Treva Silverman is an American television writer. Born on 20 May 1936, she was raised in Cedarhurst, Long Island, and graduated from Bennington College with a Bachelor of Arts in 1959.

She began writing for television in the 1960s, contributing scripts to series including *The Monkees* (1966–1967) and *That Girl* (1967). Silverman joined *The Mary Tyler Moore Show* in 1970 as a writer and later served as executive story consultant, contributing to 16 episodes between 1970 and 1974. She also wrote for *Room 222*, *The Bill Cosby Show* and other series through the 1970s and 1980s.

In 1974 she won two Primetime Emmy Awards for the *Mary Tyler Moore Show* episode "The Lou and Edie Story": Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series and Writer of the Year – Series. Her television writing career spanned from 1964 to 1994.
