## Biography

Trevor Adams (19 May 1946 – 15 December 2000) was a British actor. He trained at RADA and was a member of the National Youth Theatre, later spending a year with the Royal Shakespeare Company at Stratford-upon-Avon before moving into television.

He is best known for playing Tony Webster in the BBC sitcom *The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin* (1976–79). Other television roles included Alan in the *Fawlty Towers* episode "The Wedding Party" (1975), Sandy in *The New Avengers* (1976) and Benny in *The Professionals* (1977). He also appeared in *Z-Cars*, *Public Eye*, *Crown Court* and *Dixon of Dock Green*, and had film roles in *Groupie Girl* (1970) and *Private Road* (1971).

Adams left acting in 1982 and retrained as a solicitor, later working in Norwich. His professional commitments prevented him from appearing in the 1996 sequel series *The Legacy of Reginald Perrin*. He died in Norwich after a battle with cancer.
