## Biography

Trevor Maskell is a British actor whose screen credits include a voice role as The Announcer in the 1962 episode of the BBC sitcom *Steptoe and Son*. He appeared in several other television series and films in the late 1950s and early 1960s, including *Boyd Q.C.* (1960) as Det. Sgt. Smithers, *Harpers West One* (1961) as Bill Annerley, and *Sing and Swing* (1963) as Aldo.

He later worked professionally as Trevor Lucas. Maskell was a freelance BBC television voice-only announcer from 1962 to 1963. He subsequently joined ATV London, where he made the final announcement on the station in July 1968 before its replacement by London Weekend Television. He transferred to ATV in the Midlands in 1968 and continued voice work, including presentation trails for BBC Television around 1969–1970 and an interviewer role in the ATV series *Honey Lane* (1969).
