## Biography

Tristan Sturrock is a British actor born in 1967 in Upton Cross, Cornwall. He joined the Cornish theatre company Kneehigh in 1986 and has performed with the company for over 30 years in productions including *Brief Encounter* on Broadway and *Tristan and Yseult* at the National Theatre.

On television, Sturrock is known for playing the recurring role of mining captain Zacky Martin in all five series of *Poldark* (2015–2019). His other credits include appearances in *Doc Martin*, *Endeavour*, *The Crown*, *Death in Paradise* and *Midsomer Murders*, as well as the films *Saving Grace* (2000) and *Christopher Robin* (2018). He is married to actress and director Katy Carmichael.
