## Biography

Troy Takaki is an American film and television editor. He graduated with a degree in cinema from San Francisco State University and began working in Los Angeles in 1990. Early credits include episodes of the series *Tales from the Crypt* and *Ally McBeal*.

His feature film work includes *Sweet Home Alabama* (2002), *Hitch* (2005), *Fool's Gold* (2008), *The Bounty Hunter* (2010) and several *Diary of a Wimpy Kid* films. He has edited multiple episodes of the Netflix series *You* (2018–2025) and worked on *Desperate Housewives* (2004). Takaki has maintained a long collaboration with director Andy Tennant.

Takaki is a member of the American Cinema Editors. He has served on the ACE Internship Program since 2003, helped establish the ACE Diversity Mentorship Program in 2015, and received the 2023 Sundance/Adobe Mentorship For Fiction award. He is an adjunct professor at Columbia College Chicago, where he teaches career planning in post-production. He won an ACE Eddie Award for the docuseries *Escaping Twin Flames*.
