## Biography

Ulrike Kofler is an Austrian film editor, director and screenwriter. She trained as a photographer at the Höhere Graphische Bundes-Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt in Vienna, graduating in 1997, and then studied editing at the Filmakademie Wien until 2002.

Her diploma film there was *Un peu beaucoup*, directed by Marie Kreutzer, with whom she has maintained a long collaboration. She later studied at the Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln from 2005 to 2012, where her diploma film *Wir fliegen* (2013), which she directed and wrote, received several awards.

As an editor, her credits include *Wild Mouse* (2017), *Corsage* (2022) and *Gentle Monster* (2026). She made her feature directorial debut with *What We Wanted* (2020), which she also wrote; it was Austria’s submission for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.
