## Biography

Ursula Jeans, born Ursula Jean McMinn, was an English actress who worked in film, stage and television. She was born on 5 May 1906 in Simla, British India, to English parents, and was educated in London. She trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and made her London stage debut in 1922.

Jeans appeared in films including *Cavalcade* (1933), *The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp* (1943) as Frau von Kalteneck, *The Dam Busters* (1955) and *North West Frontier* (1959). She was married to actor Roger Livesey from 1937 until her death; they appeared together in *The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp*, their only film collaboration. She also worked with ENSA during the Second World War and toured with Livesey in Australia and New Zealand in the late 1950s.

She died on 21 April 1973 in London.
