## Biography

Vadim Ivanovich Yusov was a Soviet and Russian cinematographer. He studied at the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) and worked at Mosfilm studios.

He collaborated with Andrei Tarkovsky on *The Steamroller and the Violin* (1961), *Ivan's Childhood* (1962), *Andrei Rublev* (1966) and *Solaris* (1972). He also worked with Georgiy Daneliya on *Walking the Streets of Moscow* (1964), *Don't Grieve* (1969), *Hopelessly Lost* (1973) and *Passport* (1990), and with Sergei Bondarchuk on *They Fought for Their Country* (1975).

Yusov received several Nika Awards and the Golden Osella for *The Black Monk* (1988) at the Venice International Film Festival. He served on the jury at the 1984 Cannes Film Festival and the 1995 Berlin International Film Festival, and taught at VGIK.
