## Biography

Veda Ann Borg was an American film and television actress. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she began her career as a model in 1936 and signed a contract with Paramount Pictures. A car accident in 1939 required reconstructive facial surgery.

She appeared in more than one hundred films, including *Mildred Pierce* (1945) as Miriam Ellis, *The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer* (1947), *Guys and Dolls* (1955), and *The Alamo* (1960) as Blind Nell Robertson. Borg also worked in television from the early 1950s, with roles in series such as *Alfred Hitchcock Presents*, *Bonanza*, and *Adventures of Superman*.

Borg was married to Paul Herrick in 1942 and to director Andrew V. McLaglen from 1946 to 1958. She died of cancer in Hollywood in 1973.
