## Biography

Véra Clouzot (born Véra Gibson-Amado) was a Brazilian-French actress and screenwriter. She is known for playing Linda in *The Wages of Fear* (1953), Christina Delassalle in *Les Diaboliques* (1955) and Lucie in *Les Espions* (1957). She also co-wrote the screenplay for *La Vérité* (1960). All three of her film roles were in features directed by her husband, Henri-Georges Clouzot.

Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1913, Clouzot worked in theatre in Brazil and later in Paris with Louis Jouvet’s company. She met Clouzot through her first husband, actor Léo Lapara, and married the director in 1950. He named his production company Véra Films after her. She died in Paris in 1960.
