Vernon L. Walker was an American cinematographer and special effects artist. He began his career in the silent era as a head cameraman for Otis B. Thayer's Art-O-Graf Film Company in 1919 and later worked extensively at RKO Pictures.

Walker received cinematography credits on *King Kong* (1933) and *Son of Kong* (1933). He is best known for his special effects work on films including *Citizen Kane* (1941), *Notorious* (1946), *Bringing Up Baby* (1938), *Suspicion* (1941), *Cat People* (1942), *The Magnificent Ambersons* (1942), *The Spiral Staircase* (1946) and *Murder, My Sweet* (1944). He was nominated for four Academy Awards for Best Special Effects.
