Victor J. Kemper was an American cinematographer. Born on 14 April 1927 in Newark, New Jersey, he died on 27 November 2023 in Sherman Oaks, California.

Kemper graduated from Seton Hall University and began his career in New York working on commercials and television. His first feature credit was on John Cassavetes’s *Husbands* (1970). He went on to shoot more than sixty films, including *Dog Day Afternoon* (1975), *The Jerk* (1979), *National Lampoon’s Vacation* (1983), *Clue* (1985), *Beethoven* (1992) and *Jingle All the Way* (1996).

A member of the American Society of Cinematographers, Kemper served as its president from 1993 to 1996 and from 1999 to 2001. He received the ASC Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998.
