He wrote the screenplay for the 1957 film *The Cranes Are Flying*, directed by Mikhail Kalatozov, which was adapted from his play *Alive Forever* (also known as *Вечно живые*). Rozov wrote more than twenty plays and six film scripts. Other credited screenplays include *Letter Never Sent* (1960). He graduated from the Gorky Literary Institute in 1953 and later taught there, becoming a professor.
