## Biography

Vilma Marie Ebsen was an American actress and dancer. She was born on 1 February 1911 in Belleville, Illinois, and performed on Broadway with her brother Buddy Ebsen in *Flying Colors* (1932) and the *Ziegfeld Follies of 1934*.

In 1935 the siblings appeared together in the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer musical *Broadway Melody of 1936*, in which Ebsen played Sally Burke. She made one further Broadway appearance, in *Between the Devil* (1937), before retiring from performing. She later co-owned the Ebsen School of Dancing in Pacific Palisades, California. Ebsen died on 12 March 2007 in Thousand Oaks, California.
