## Biography

Vincent Courtois is a French jazz cellist and composer of film and television scores. Born in Paris in 1968, he began classical cello studies at the age of six at the conservatory in Aubervilliers, where he later earned a first prize in cello and chamber music. He subsequently pursued jazz and improvisation, collaborating with musicians including Dominique Pifarély and Louis Sclavis.

Courtois has released several albums as a leader and performed with artists such as Rabih Abou-Khalil and Martial Solal. He has composed original music for cinema and television, including the animated features *Ernest & Celestine* (2012) and *Ernest and Celestine: A Trip to Gibberitia* (2022), as well as other films such as *L'éclaireur* (2006).
