## Biography

Vincent Ebrahim is a South African actor and comedian. He studied drama at the University of Cape Town and moved to England in 1976, where he began his acting career in community and stage theatre before working with companies including Tara Arts.

He is known for playing Ashwin Kumar in the comedy series *The Kumars at No. 42* (2001–2006, 2014), Bobby in *After You've Gone* (2007–2008), Robert "Big Bob" Gupta in the soap opera *Hollyoaks* (2014) and Hashim Elamin in *Coronation Street* (2021). His film roles include Mr. Caliche (voice) in *Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit* (2005), as well as appearances in *The Physician* (2013), *Allied* (2016) and *Happy New Year, Colin Burstead* (2018). In 2013 he won a SAFTA for Best Supporting Actor for his work in *Material*.
