He is a co-founder of the international distribution and sales company Wild Bunch, where he has served as international sales director. Maraval began his career in the video department at UGC, later working at TF1 and StudioCanal. At the latter, he established the Wild Bunch label to promote independent cinema before leaving in 2002. He has produced or executive produced films including *City of God* (2002), *Blue Is the Warmest Color* (2013), *Only God Forgives* (2013), *The Neon Demon* (2016), *Climax* (2018) and *Emilia Pérez* (2024). In 2012, Maraval wrote an article in *Le Monde* arguing that French actors were overpaid, which generated industry debate.
