## Biography

Virginia Walker was an American film actress. Born Virginia May Walker on 31 July 1908, she worked as a model in national magazine advertisements before entering films.

She made her screen debut as Alice Swallow in Howard Hawks's *Bringing Up Baby* (1938). She was signed to a personal contract by Hawks and loaned to RKO for the role. In 1938 she married film producer William Hawks, brother of the director; the couple divorced in 1942. After the divorce she appeared in four further feature films in 1945, three of them uncredited, including a credited role in *The Caribbean Mystery*.

Walker died in Los Angeles on 23 December 1946.
