## Biography

Vittorio Mezzogiorno (1941–1994) was an Italian actor. He began his career in the theatre, joining the company of Eduardo De Filippo in the mid-1960s and later working with other Italian troupes.

Mezzogiorno appeared in films including *Café Express* (1980), *Three Brothers* (1981) as Rocco Giuranna and the young Donato, and *The Moon in the Gutter* (1983). He played Arjuna in Peter Brook's stage production of *The Mahabharata* and its 1989 film adaptation, and portrayed Commissioner Davide Licata in the television series *The Octopus* (1984 onwards). He received Nastro d'Argento awards for *Il Giocattolo* (1979) and *Three Brothers*.
