## Biography

Vivian Nathan, also credited as Vivian Firko, was an American actress and a founding member of the Actors Studio, which opened in 1947. She served on its board of directors until 1999. She made her Broadway debut in the 1949 production of *Montserrat* and appeared in the original productions of *The Rose Tattoo* (1951) and *Camino Real* (1953).

Her film credits include *Teacher's Pet* (1958), *The Young Savages* (1961) and *Klute* (1971), in which she played a psychiatrist. She also appeared in television series including *Kojak* (1976) and *The Equalizer* (1989). Nathan received the Clarence Derwent Award in 1955 for her stage performance in *Anastasia*. She died in 2015.
