Walter DeLeon (3 May 1884 – 1 August 1947) was an American screenwriter and playwright. Born in Oakland, California, he wrote screenplays for 69 films released between 1921 and 1953.

His credits include *Ruggles of Red Gap* (1935), *The Cat and the Canary* (1939), *Union Pacific* (1939), *The Ghost Breakers* (1940) and *The Time of Their Lives* (1946). He also wrote several Broadway plays and musicals in the 1920s.
