## Biography

Walter Gronostay (1906–1937) was a German composer who worked primarily in film music from the late 1920s. Born in Berlin, he composed scores for feature films and documentaries, including *Reifende Jugend* (1933), *Der Tunnel* (1933) and *Straßenmusik* (1936).

He contributed music to the two-part documentary *Olympia* (1938), directed by Leni Riefenstahl and released after his death, co-composing with Herbert Windt. He also scored *Jugend der Welt* (1936). Gronostay died in Sacrow bei Potsdam on 10 October 1937.
