## Biography

Walter Hannemann was an American film editor. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, he began working in the MGM shipping department while at school before graduating from the University of Southern California. He started in sound editing at Paramount Pictures and received his first film editing credit in 1943 on *Riders of the Deadline*.

Hannemann edited numerous feature films and television series over four decades. His credits include *Al Capone* (1959), *Guns of the Magnificent Seven* (1969), *The Invaders* (1967), *Two-Minute Warning* (1976), *Smokey and the Bandit* (1977) and *The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas* (1982). He edited multiple episodes of the series *The Fugitive* (1963) and received Academy Award nominations for Best Film Editing for *Two-Minute Warning* and *Smokey and the Bandit*.
