## Biography

Walter McGinn was an American actor. Born on 6 July 1936 in Providence, Rhode Island, he graduated with a B.A. from Boston University College of Fine Arts. He made his Off-Broadway debut in 1963 in a New York Shakespeare Festival production of *The Winter's Tale* and his Broadway debut the following year in *The Subject Was Roses*.

McGinn appeared in several films in the mid-1970s, including *The Parallax View* (1974) as Jack Younger, *Three Days of the Condor* (1975) as Sam Barber, *Farewell, My Lovely* (1975) as Tommy Ray and *Bobby Deerfield* (1977) as The Brother. On television he played Louis Howe in the 1977 film *Eleanor and Franklin: The White House Years*, for which he received a posthumous Primetime Emmy Award nomination. He also had roles in series such as *Kojak*.

He was married to producer Robyn Goodman from 1976 until his death. McGinn died on 31 March 1977 in Los Angeles, California, aged 40, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
