## Biography

Waylon Jennings (1937–2002) was an American singer, songwriter and actor. He voiced The Balladeer, his character from the series *The Dukes of Hazzard*, in two episodes of the animated series *Family Guy* (1999 and 2001).

Jennings appeared in several films and television programmes, including as a truck driver in *Follow That Bird* (1985), a guest role in *Married... with Children* (1994) and a part in *Maverick* (1994). He also provided narration and the theme song for all seven seasons of *The Dukes of Hazzard* (1979–1985). He began playing guitar at the age of eight and first performed on radio at the age of twelve.
