## Biography

Wendy Craig is an English actress. She trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London and began her career in theatre before appearing in films including *Room at the Top* (1959) and *The Servant* (1963), in which she played Susan Stewart.

Craig is best known for her television roles as harassed housewives in sitcoms such as *Not in Front of the Children* (1967–1970), *...And Mother Makes Three* (1971–1976), *...And Mother Makes Five* (1974–1976) and *Butterflies* (1978–1983). She later played Matron in the series *The Royal* (2003–2011) and Aunt Juley in *The Forsyte Saga* (2002). She was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Most Promising Newcomer for *The Servant* and won the BAFTA Award for Best Actress for *Not in Front of the Children*.
