## Biography

Wendy Makkena is an American actress. Born Wendy Rosenberg Makkena on 4 October 1958 in Manhattan, New York, she attended the Juilliard School.

She is best known for playing Sister Mary Robert in the films *Sister Act* (1992) and *Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit* (1993). Her other film credits include *Air Bud* (1997), *State of Play* (2009) and *A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood* (2019), in which she played Dorothy Vogel. Makkena has appeared regularly on stage since the 1980s, making her Broadway debut in *Pygmalion* in 1987. She has also had recurring television roles including on *House*, *Law & Order: Special Victims Unit* and *NCIS*.
