Wendy Melvoin is an American composer, guitarist and singer-songwriter. Born on 26 January 1964 in Los Angeles, she began her career in the early 1980s as a member of Prince and the Revolution, contributing guitar and vocals to albums including *Purple Rain* (1984).

With Lisa Coleman she forms the duo Wendy & Lisa (also known as Girl Bros.), which has released several albums and worked extensively in film and television scoring. Their credits include the score for the series *Heroes* (2006–2010) and its spin-off *Heroes Reborn* (2015), as well as *Crossing Jordan* (2001–2007), *Dangerous Minds* (1995) and later series such as *Outer Range* (2022) and *Wine Country* (2019).

Melvoin and Coleman have received ASCAP awards for their television work and an Emmy for the main title theme of *Nurse Jackie*.
