## Biography

Whitney Ransick is an American television and film director, producer and writer. A 1987 graduate of Purchase College, he was a founding member of the New York independent film studio The Shooting Gallery.

Ransick directed episodes of *Homicide: Life on the Street* (1994–1995), *ER* (1996), *Nash Bridges*, *Martial Law*, *Smallville* (2005–2008) and *Supernatural* (2006), among more than forty hours of episodic television. His feature directorial debut was the 1994 film *Hand Gun*, for which he also wrote the screenplay and served as editor; he later directed the documentary *Misfire: The Rise and Fall of the Shooting Gallery* (2013). He is a member of the Directors Guild of America.
