## Biography

Wieland Schulz-Keil is a German film producer. Born in Muschenheim in 1945, he studied literature and philosophy at the universities of Frankfurt, Heidelberg and Berlin, and began directing plays at small European theatres. He later worked as an editor for the theatre magazine Theater heute and, from 1969, in New York, where he founded a documentary production company and made numerous films for television.

In the 1980s Schulz-Keil moved into feature films. With Chris Sievernich he produced John Huston's *Under the Volcano* (1984) and *The Dead* (1987). His later credits include *Twister* (1989), *The Cat's Meow* (2001) as executive producer, and *The Children of Huang Shi* (2008).
