## Biography

Will Rogers (1879–1935) was an American actor, humorist and performer. He appeared as Judge William Pitman 'Billy' Priest in the 1934 film *Judge Priest*, directed by John Ford.

Rogers began his career in Wild West shows and vaudeville before joining the Ziegfeld Follies. He went on to make numerous films for Fox, including *Steamboat Round the Bend* (1935), and wrote syndicated newspaper columns. He died in a plane crash near Point Barrow, Alaska, alongside aviator Wiley Post.
