## Biography

Willi Segler is a German film producer and commissioning editor. Born on 10 November 1933, he has worked extensively with the public broadcaster ZDF, serving in production and editorial roles on numerous films and television projects from the 1970s onwards.

He is credited as producer on Werner Herzog’s *Stroszek* (1977) and held similar or editorial positions on other Herzog films including *Woyzeck* (1979) and *Fitzcarraldo* (1982). Segler also produced or contributed to *71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance* (1994) by Michael Haneke, *Korczak* (1990), *Hard to Be a God* (1989) and *Where the Green Ants Dream* (1984). He received a writing credit on *Die Patriotin* (1979).
