## Biography

William Bramley (also credited as Bill Bramley) was an American actor. Born on 18 April 1928 in Runnemede, New Jersey, he graduated from Bucknell University in 1953, where he took part in theatrical productions. He made his Broadway debut in the short-lived play *The Lovers* (1956) and originated the role of Officer Krupke in the original Broadway production of *West Side Story* (1957–1959).

Bramley reprised the part of Krupke in the 1961 film version of *West Side Story*. He appeared in numerous films, including *I Love You, Alice B. Toklas!* (1968), and was frequently cast in supporting roles on television series such as *Gunsmoke*, *Bonanza*, *I Dream of Jeannie*, *The Outer Limits*, *Perry Mason*, *Lost in Space* and *The Waltons*. He died on 27 October 1985 in Los Angeles County, California.
