## Biography

William Frawley, also credited as Bill Frawley, was an American actor. He began his career in vaudeville in 1914 with his wife Edna Louise Broedt in the act 'Frawley and Louise', which toured until their divorce in 1927. He later performed on Broadway before moving to Hollywood in the early 1930s.

Frawley appeared in more than 100 films. His credits include *Miracle on 34th Street* (1947) as Charlie Halloran, *Monsieur Verdoux* (1947) as Jean La Salle, *Going My Way* (1944) as Max Dolan, *Rancho Notorious* (1952) as Baldy Gunder and *Gentleman Jim* (1942) as Billy Delaney. On television he played Fred Mertz in *I Love Lucy* (1951–1957) and Bub O'Casey in *My Three Sons* (1960–1965). He died in Los Angeles on 3 March 1966.
