## Biography

William H. Wright was an American film and television producer and writer. He began his career in the Paramount publicity department in 1927 before moving into production, serving as an assistant to David O. Selznick, B. P. Schulberg and Harry Cohn. In 1941 he joined MGM as a staff writer and was soon promoted to producer.

Over the next decade he produced fifteen MGM features, including *Act of Violence* (1949), *Stars in My Crown* (1950) and *The Naked Spur* (1953). Later credits include *Dead Ringer* (1964) and *A Distant Trumpet* (1964). He also worked extensively in television as a producer and writer on series such as *The Adventures of Jim Bowie* (1956–1958).
