## Biography

William Hayward was an American film and television producer. Born in Los Angeles in 1941, he was the son of producer and agent Leland Hayward and actress Margaret Sullavan.

He worked as associate producer on *Easy Rider* (1969) and producer on *The Hired Hand* (1971), both directed by or starring Peter Fonda. His other credits include producing *Idaho Transfer* (1973) and executive producing *High-Ballin'* (1978) and *Wanda Nevada* (1979). He also produced the 1980 television film *Haywire*, adapted from his sister Brooke Hayward's memoir.

Hayward died in Castaic, California, in 2008.
