## Biography

William Henry was an American actor who worked in film and television. Born in Los Angeles in 1914, he began as a child actor and trained at the Pasadena Community Playhouse. He appeared in juvenile roles early on before becoming a lead in B-westerns and later working as a character actor.

Henry was a member of the John Ford stock company and appeared in twelve of the director's films. His credits include Gilbert Wynant in *The Thin Man* (1934), roles in *The Horse Soldiers* (1959), *The Alamo* (1960), *How the West Was Won* (1962), *The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance* (1962) and *El Dorado* (1966), and guest appearances on series such as *Hogan's Heroes* and *The Six Million Dollar Man*. He died in Los Angeles in 1982.
