## Biography

William P. Cartlidge, also credited as Bill Cartlidge, was an English film and television producer and assistant director. He began his career in the early 1960s and worked as an assistant director on several films directed by Lewis Gilbert, including *Alfie* (1966) and *You Only Live Twice* (1967).

Cartlidge served as associate producer on the James Bond films *The Spy Who Loved Me* (1977) and *Moonraker* (1979), both directed by Gilbert. He later produced or co-produced features including *Educating Rita* (1983), *Consuming Passions* (1988), *Dealers* (1989) and *The Playboys* (1992). As producer of the miniseries *Dinotopia* (2002), he received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Miniseries.

Cartlidge died on 3 March 2021, aged 78.
