## Biography

William Prince was an American actor. He began his career on stage in the 1930s after leaving Cornell University to join a Federal Theatre tour of *The Taming of the Shrew*. He gained experience with the Barter Theater and made his Broadway debut in 1937.

Prince appeared in numerous soap operas, including a lead role in *Young Dr. Malone* (1958–1963), and made dozens of guest appearances on primetime series. His film roles include *Network* (1976) as Edward Ruddy, *The Stepford Wives* (1975) as Ike Mazzard, *Family Plot* (1976) as Bishop Wood and *The Gauntlet* (1977) as Blakelock. He was married to actress Augusta Dabney.
