## Biography

William Shea was a Canadian film editor and director. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, he worked in Hollywood from the silent era onwards and was based at Paramount Pictures between 1928 and 1947.

Shea edited more than seventy American films. His credits include *The Last Command* (1928), *Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde* (1931), *One Hour with You* (1932), *Desire* (1936), *Angel* (1937), *Bluebeard's 8th Wife* (1938) and *That Uncertain Feeling* (1941). He also directed three short musical films in the mid-1940s.

His later work included television editing, with a credit on the pilot episode of the series *Mister Ed*.
