## Biography

William T. Orr (1917–2002) was an American actor and television producer. He began his career as an actor in the late 1930s and appeared in films including *The Mortal Storm* (1940), in which he played Erich Von Rohn.

Orr later moved into production. As the first head of Warner Bros. Television, he oversaw the studio’s early prime-time output for ABC, including *Cheyenne* (1955), *Maverick* (1957), *77 Sunset Strip* (1958) and *F Troop* (1965). He also produced the feature film *Sex and the Single Girl* (1964).

Orr received a Golden Boot Award for his contributions to western television. He died in Los Angeles on 25 December 2002.
