## Biography

Winifred Hervey is an American television writer and producer. She is sometimes credited as Winifred Hervey-Stallworth. A graduate of Loyola Marymount University, she began her career writing for Garry Marshall-produced sitcoms including *Laverne & Shirley* and *Mork & Mindy*.

In the 1980s she wrote episodes of *Benson* and *The Cosby Show*, and contributed as a writer and co-producer on *The Golden Girls*. She shared an Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series in 1987 for her work on the latter. In the 1990s she wrote for and executive produced *The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air*, created and executive produced *In the House*, and created *The Steve Harvey Show*, which she executive produced and for which she served as head writer.
