## Biography

Wu Da-Jiang (also credited as Wu Ta-Chiang, Wu Tat-Chiang and 吳大江) was a Chinese composer, conductor and performer specialising in traditional Chinese music. Born in Shanwei, Guangdong, he moved to Hong Kong in 1963 and later worked in Singapore and Taiwan. He held positions including music director and conductor of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and conductor of the Taipei Chinese Orchestra.

He composed scores for more than a hundred films from the late 1960s onwards. His credits include King Hu’s *A Touch of Zen* (1970), *Legend of the Mountain* (1979) and *Raining in the Mountain* (1979), as well as *Five Fingers of Death* (1972). He died in Taipei on 4 September 2001.
